This project is the ideal opportunity to allow groups to have a base to promote the Lothians outwith Edinburgh using display, video & leaflet material. The majority of Edinburgh residents seldom look beyond their immediate urban environment as a place to pursue leisure, entertainment, culture & shopping activities. Neighbouring local councils are keen to promote their own areas. West Lothian Council already attends agricultural shows & other events promoting the attributes of West Lothian. There are also a number of voluntary bodies, such as West Lothian Tourist Forum, who would doubtless be keen to get involved in this kind of project. Use of the space could be rotated through the representatives of the areas who wish to participate in order to keep up public interest. Or, if allocated a larger area, several bodies could be involved at the same time. My role would be to coordinate the participating groups.
